The clock don't lie.

Last weekend I headed to the great state of Texas for the BSLT 70.3 (half-iroman). If you recall this race has become a staple for me over the past several years as it is such a quality event, within driving distance and I really like the course.

This year was extra fun because I was able to stay with my good buddy Steven, whom I haven't hung out with much since he moved away a couple of years back.

Lubbock is known for its hot and humid race conditions, however last year the weather was windy and raining and this year we were met with more of the same!
In the end, I came up several minutes and a couple of placings short of my goal. I placed 6th place AG with a 4:35 overall time. Not sure what caused the "slowness" as I've been working very hard the last couple of months. I do find assurance in the fact that I had the mental strength to go out there and race hard from the gun and "leave it all on the course". However, no matter how hard you may push yourself, at the end of the day, the clock don't lie.

For now, its a little time off, "Doctor's orders". I'll devise my next plan of attack sometime next week. Thanks for checking in everybody.
